The photo post
The headline is referring to the amount of photos I’m sharing this week… A LOT!
Cleveland Orchestra at the Arsht Center
This past weekend was a whirlwind spent with my best friend. Saturday night we went to watch the Cleveland Orchestra perform and then went to visit my niece’s boyfriend AJ at his job, the new Magic 13 Brewing Co. in Little Haiti. It was a really fun night.
Sunday we went to the Chinese New Year celebration at Smorgasburg Miami in Wynwood where it was sooooooo hot but the food was delicious. We then went to 1-800-Lucky to get dumplings. It was packed but the lines were a LITTLE shorter there.
Door to elevator we took up to Ivy Brown Gallery in NYC
Monday I boarded a flight to NYC and spent three great days there visiting my son Michael. We walked and walked and walked, discovered a cool gallery the Ivy Brown Gallery and we actually met the owner Ivy Brown. Such a cool NY experience given her studio is in a brownstone where you grab an elevator that’s behind a door at street level. It was just the coolest thing ever.
Drama Book Shop in NYC
St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church in NYC
I also finally got to go to the Drama Book Shop which I’d heard so much about and it didn’t disappoint. And walking by so much beautiful architecture is always a treat, particularly a Catholic church that really took my breath away.
Bob’s Your Uncle
Cookie shots from Dominique Ansel
Rudy’s Music in Soho
We also hit a ton of dive bars with cool names like Bob’s Your Uncle, Lucky Dog and Jack Bar. The biscuit sandwich at Harlem Biscuit Co. and cookie shots from Dominique Ansel bakery were to die for and the guitars and overall ambiance at Rudy’s Music in Soho was really, really cool.
Sculpture garden at The Whitney Museum
Sketch of Edward Hopper’s famous “Nighthawks”
Cauliflower bites from Shinka
Soft shell crab bao at Shinka
Brisket ramen at Shinka
On Sunday I spent the day at the Whitney Museum of Art where I saw five floors of incredible works by Edward Hopper and so many others. Then my final stop before leaving was to Shinka Ramen & Sake Bar for a special meal prepared for me by Michael. That’s where he’s Executive Chef. So…if you’re ever in NYC, that’s a pretty good itinerary for ya!

That’s all, see you next Friday in your inbox.
