Self-imposed social media cleanse

I recently accepted a challenge to post a photo of something that makes me happy to any of my chosen social media channels for the next 100 days with the intention being that I would be happy for 100 days.It was after posting the third photo that I had a moment of clarity and realized, why do I need to do this? And why for that matter do I have to be on social media on a daily basis? What is it REALLY giving me but a false sense of approval from all my friends. I'm guilty as the rest of using social media as a way to get plenty of pats on the back and applause. So I decided it's time for a social media cleanse. My goal is to stay off it for as long as possible. I'll check FB pages for my work (yes, I really do need to do that) but for nothing else. It really becomes an obsession and I'm the first one to admit, I am officially obsessed.Enough I say, enough. I need to find other outlets. My books sit barely read on my bedside table. I need to re-discover my love of reading. I remember my father accusing me of always reading something when I lived at home. Nothing wrong with that.Let's see how long this lasts.
