Much ado about nothing
Well, not nothing, I was plenty busy this week, conducting interviews, finishing up an article today and working on a public relations project which thankfully ended tonight.
I did my usual… food rescue from Panera on Monday night and Trivia night on Wednesday at Old Tom’s Cafe where Vance and I and Kevin and Michelle took second place. It’s been our standing get together for so long that another one of the regulars said he gets nervous when he sees us arrive because we’re him and his teammates best competition. That actually felt pretty cool.
Wednesday night we actually went walking around Biscayne Park for Halloween and it was really fun, plus it was a great way to get some steps in. We stopped by Patty and Dan’s house, they’re longtime friends who always get lots and lots of trick or treaters. It was great catching up with them and indulging in lots of chocolate treats while sitting on their porch.
During the day however, I stuck around the house because we had our entire electrical wiring replaced and that was a huge undertaking which had the workers here the entire week. Thankfully, the job is done but there’s lots of sanding and painting to be done and tons of dusting and clean up!
Tonight I went to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum for a reenactment of the Dewey Defeats Truman historic photograph. Harry Truman’s grandson Clifton Truman Daniel portrayed his grandfather and took his spot on the historic Ferdinand Magellan railcar that’s housed at the Museum. By the way, the Museum is free the first Saturday of the month!
Tomorrow I can’t wait to go hear my nephew Danny speak about his career in production design at the Coral Gables Art Cinema.
I also encourage you, if you’re a fan of the Miami Book Fair, to click here and take advantage of free tickets to the street fair. And if you’re feeling in the holiday mood, click here to take advantage of a discount on Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s NightGarden holiday experience.
And this week my article on a couple of plays with very similar storylines, playing at Actors’ Playhouse and at the Arsht Center by City Theatre. Click here to read about them. You’ve got time to buy tickets since they begin later this month.
That’s all for this week. I’ll be sharing another article or maybe two next week and tell you all about NightGarden which I’m attending on Thursday for the media preview.
Until then… have a great one!
