Lead up to Christmas

Hope you’re ready for Christmas, if you celebrate. I’ve had a nice week leading up to this weekend and all the festivities.

That’s him in the middle pointing #1!

Saturday my son Nick and his 3 on 3 Special Olympics basketball team finished first in their local competition. They’ll be competing in an area competition in Broward on Jan. 15.

Arts & Biz Council gang at El Cristo Restaurant in Little Havana.

Kicking off with the Arts & Business Council of Miami’s holiday luncheon at El Cristo Restaurant in Little Havana. Had some great conversation, some delicious food and a fun white elephant gift exchange.

Before the luncheon I took a nice walk through my neighborhood and met a wonderful woman. I complemented her on her lovely home and she waved me over and we had a wonderful chat. Turns out her husband is the gentleman I always see driving around in his electric blue vintage Corvette! Small world. Loved walking by some of my favorite houses too.

The remainder of the week was spent Christmas shopping and pretty much taking it easy.

Today, my son Michael got in from NYC. He went off with his best friend and then to this movies with his sister so I decided to have some me time and hit the beach where I took a nice nap, enjoyed the view and then walked to Flanigan’s for a Blue Moon draft and my favorite fish dip.

And on the way home, I couldn’t resist taking another slow ride down Enchanted Place in North Miami to admire the Christmas lights. I can’t stay away.

Now I’m gonna go lay down and relax some more because the Gulliksen house is hosting both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so lots to do these next two days.

Happy holidays and I’ll see you again next Friday for the last blog of 2022!

Thanks for reading!
