Heart’s heavy, emotions running high

It’s been a rough week.

I don’t usually get political with this blog but after witnessing what is happening in Cuba…my heart is heavy and my emotions are running high.

I’m saddened and feel helpless. My heart breaks as I watch the island’s residents futile attempt at what I’m almost certain will result in no change whatsoever.

I hope I’m wrong, oh how I hope and pray I’m wrong.

This week has taken me back to those days of long conversations with my Mom about life in Cuba before everything fell apart for her and my father, her relatives and so many others.

And so I sit here and pray and let tears roll down my face.

Patria y Vida. Libertad. Those chants by protesters will continue to ring in my ears. I pray for their safety and that their voices are heard.

That’s all I’ve got for this week. Don’t have much more to say.

Perhaps next Friday I may write about some good news coming from Cuba?

We shall see.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful, blessed and safe week.
