Graduation!

The happy graduate

This week’s headline says it all. My daughter Elizabeth graduated from Design and Architecture Senior High School (DASH) on Wednesday, June 1. I am so proud of her, especially that she graduated Cum Laude and received a Superintendent’s Diploma of Distinction.

Diploma in hand!

It was a wonderful afternoon at the beautiful Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. There were tears shed, lots of hugs given and smiles all around. The journey is finally finished, through two years of Covid! Sigh of relief is an understatement!

Having my son Michael in town from NYC was nice too, so glad he could make it for the graduation and due to this crazy weather and his flight cancellation, he stayed an extra day. Although that was stressful for him work wise, I was proud as I watched him in his role as Executive Chef, guide the team at the restaurant back home through prep for lots of catered parties they’ve got.

Happy family

And this morning my other son Nicholas headed off to Orlando for a 10-day trip to compete in the Special Olympics Summer Games. He’s playing softball for Team Florida. I’ll be heading up there Wednesday through Friday to watch him compete and really looking forward to it.

Tomorrow night, I’ll be watching Elizabeth strut her stuff on the catwalk during her high schools end of year fashion show. I’ll share pictures next week.

Finally, wanted to share my article for Biscayne Times on the sale of the iconic Raleigh Hotel on Miami Beach. Click here to read.

That’s all for this week’s family-centric post. See you again next Friday and until then, stay safe, stay healthy and have a wonderful weekend and week.
