Beach, food, awards & end of year stuff!
June 1, it can’t come soon enough. That’s graduation day for my youngest child (well, she’s actually an adult she’s 18) Elizabeth. June 1, that’s graduation day!!! So glad when school will be over. Yay!!!
All kidding aside, I was a proud momma this week when I attended the Senior Showcase at DASH where she and her friends curated a very cool area of the show (I forgot to snap a pic!). Elizabeth was also in her school’s Film Festival the following night. The few snippets I saw of her were great!
And my son Michael has been developing some amazing dishes at the Bowery Beer Garden in New York City’s Chinatown where he’s Executive Chef. I’ve shared photos of some of those dishes above.
Also this week, I was the proud great aunt when I watched my great niece Hailey walk up to receive her Foreign Language Award for German at George Washington Carver Middle School’s awards assembly.
And I was a proud aunt when I found out my nephew Danny has gone back to college and with his crazy schedule as an Art Director and Producer the fact that he’s in the National Honor Society and has an A average is impressive!
I have lots of nieces and nephews so also was proud to hear that my nephew Tony in Seattle has developed a video game. I’m not completely surprised given he’s worked for Nintendo and EA Sports. Go Tony!
Also this past week, I had a wonderful time at the beach on Sunday morning with our friends Michelle and Kevin and their son Jake. We toasted mimosas for their wedding anniversary that day. I also went to the beach on my own a few days later and the photo I snapped that day (which you can see above) was published in The New Tropic’s newsletter today.
And I finally made it to Burgers ‘n Shakes in North Beach. I tried their sliders and chocolate shake and they were everything I’d hoped they’d be!
You know from reading this blog that I always have to share any article that I’ve had published and so here’s my latest for the Camillus House website on the amazing day I spent doing visits with the Lazarus Project team. Click here to read it.
Thanks for always reading. Remember to hold those you love a little tighter from now on. Life is precious and we shouldn’t take our loved ones (or anyone for that matter) for granted.
