De Rodriguez Ocean: Take a dive for something spectacular

He’s had so much success with his other restaurant on South Beach that Chef Douglas Rodriguez figured why not try a new venture but this time on the south side of Fifth Street which is what MacArthur Causeway turns into and leads to Ocean Drive. And so DeRodriguez Ocean was born and it’s all about seafood here.Hailed as the “Godfather of Nuevo Latino Cuisine,” Chef Rodriguez’ latest venture features a menu filled with ceviches (there’s fifteen of them here), a raw bar and sustainable seafood items. He uses only organic or farm-raised products from local fishermen. This makes his mixed seafood ceviche, big eye tuna watermelon, himachi tiraditos, rainbow ceviche tiraditos and nakes oyster mignonette the freshest around. And for meat lovers there’s Kobe meatballs and organic Meyer Ranch churrasco beef tenderloin.The place’s whimsical interior with nautical themes like 1920s inspired wood-cut mermaids and sea life hanging from the ceiling make the place casually elegant.De Rodriguez Ocean is located inside the Hilton Bentley Hotel, 101 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, FL
