Mercadito: Big flavor and awesome atmosphere

The name means “little market” but there’s nothing small about Mercadito, a recent arrival to Midtown Miami’s growing restaurant scene. It’s all about sharing at this chic spot with the light wood floors, custom made copper lighting and banquet seating. The menu concept is small bites for sharing with a huge variety of favorites tailor-made for just that.The guacamole, salsa and ceviche bars are the perfect complement to tacos served in fresh made tortillas. Try a fish taco made with pan seared tilapia topped with a chile poblano and tomatillo-garlic mojo with a side of arroz verde (green rice) casserole and one of their signature margaritas to wash it all down. Ceviches are made with seafood like fresh bay scallops, shrimp and mahi mahi and include avocado, apple, lime and mint as their ingredients. They’re refreshingly light.
