Busy, productive week

I’m glad the weekend’s here! (As I’m sure you all are). No complaints though as it was a productive week spent doing what I truly love.

Although sometimes it takes lots of determination to sit at this keyboard and produce, it gives me immense satisfaction to finish, hit “Save” and send off my work.

A special moment during Carnival Cruise Line’s 50th Celebration festivities when President Christine Duffy recognized their many Ukrainian employees.

This week I…

  • Wrote about the Arts & Business Council of Miami’s Patent Pro Bono Program, with attorneys who give of their time to help entrepreneurs and inventors protect themselves against copycats. It was so encouraging to speak to these individuals who volunteer their time this way. Click here to read my article.

  • Scheduled a visit to tour the Miami Lighthouse for the Blind facility on March 28. I’m so excited to finally see this place in person after driving by it so many times. I had the honor of interviewing their President & CEO Virginia Jacko back in 2020 about their blind musicians and the fact they’re for hire. Click here to read the article.

  • Mustered up the courage to finally submit a short play I wrote to Susi Westfall at City Theatre who was gracious enough and said yes to reviewing it. Nervous doesn’t even begin to describe how I’m feeling about this.

  • Had the pleasure of covering Carnival Cruise Line’s 50th Anniversary Celebration aboard the Carnival Conquest for Cruisecritic.com. The event was today and I rushed home to write the article and it was invigorating to crank this one out. Here’s a link.

Also, I was assigned to write about the O, Miami Poetry Festival one of my favorite annual events in Miami, for Biscayne Times. Had a lovely chat earlier this week with one of this year’s participants and am looking forward to interviewing their founder P. Scott Cunningham next week. Click on the link above and read about this wonderful festival whose mission is to spread poetry all around the city throughout the month of April.

As always, there’s more to come next week so check your inbox on Friday for your weekly dose of Scene Around South FL! Thanks as always for reading. Stay well and keep the people of Ukraine in your thoughts and prayers.
