Birthday, permit, welcome home

Elizabeth ready to blow out the candles on her beautiful cake. 18 looks good on her!

My daughter Elizabeth turned 18 yesterday. My sweetheart is now legal! So crazy. She had a wonderful day with her friends and had a beautiful cake made for her by her boyfriend David’s mother and it was delicious. This weekend we celebrate with her aunts. She was also thrilled her Dad got back from an almost two-week business trip just in time for her birthday. I was thrilled too!

The biggest challenge this week was a lengthy visit to the permit office where I was successful at getting ours approved. That means new impact window installation begins on Tuesday. Thank goodness!

One thing that was easy was writing to my Editor at Biscayne Times and asking her to reassign an article I just wasn’t comfortable writing. The one she gave me to replace it is much more up my alley.

Mac ‘n cheese and a Stella Artois draft at Blvd. Bae’s.

Then today, I finally went to a cute little spot called Blvd. Bae’s in the MiMo District. I’d been hearing wonderful things about it and it didn’t disappoint. Cute atmosphere and great mac ‘n cheese. They’re also located next to the lovely and lush MiMo Garden Center.

Breakfast sandwich and fresh squeezed OJ from Tinta y Cafe in Miami Shores.

I also tried a delicious breakfast sandwich at Tinta y Cafe in Miami Shores. It was fluffy scrambled eggs, melted swiss cheese on soft Media Noche bread. Yum!

And this was a good week for articles for me. My profile on Bank of America executive Vania Laguerre was published in Legacy Miami and my article on the move of Oolite Arts to the Little River neighborhood was published in Biscayne Times. Click on the link to read it.

That’s all for this week, see ya next Friday and Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms!
