Basel, meals & holidays
I want to start by saying that Thanksgiving was very nice. Relaxing time spent with my wonderful family members with fantastic weather to boot! And The Gulliksen family, well we enjoyed our North Miami Winternational Parade even though it was definitely toned down this year. But it was still really, really fun.
This week has been Art Week Miami which culminates with the big Art Basel show at the Miami Beach Convention Center this weekend. I had the pleasure of helping man the booth of photographer Robert Young at the Scope Art Fair. It was wonderful to speak to passersby and explain his powerful works. I encourage you to visit his website and see what I mean. I also was able to visit the Emerson Dorsch Gallery booth at the Untitled Art Fair.
I loved strolling through both shows and taking in all the variety of art, people watch and chat with visitors from Colorado, Israel, Russia, New York, Los Angeles and so many other places.
I also checked out a cool and quirky show at the Seven Seas Motel on Biscayne Blvd. called Together: A Hybrid Art Experience. I walked in and out of the rooms, all which featured a different artistic adventure. It almost reminded me of the Miami Motel Stories immersive theater experience.
And finally, it was wonderful to spend time with our good friends Janet and Ruben, having a delicious dinner and wonderful conversation at their lovely home in Hollywood. And having a lovely beachfront lunch with my longtime friend Antoinette.
I’ll have plenty to report next week on not only the big Art Basel show but a cool event I’m attending Tuesday night.
Looking forward to telling you all about it next Friday.
Tonight…we buy our Christmas tree and continue decorating the house, which I slowly began doing this week, a little at a time, slow and steady. No rushing, just enjoying it all and watching it come together.
Thanks as always for reading and until then…have a great weekend and week.
