Back after a week off

I’m back after taking a quick break last week since I had to go out of town for the weekend.

I’m making it short and sweet this week…

In the past few weeks I’ve worked hard on two assignments for Biscayne Times, my new gig where I worked on a holiday gift guide and a round up article on Nutcracker performances around Miami. They wiped me out because I had to take a majority of the photos and I was running around town getting that done. I’m looking forward to sharing links with you for those once they’re posted online.

Crudo appetizer at Mignonette (Facebook image)

This past weekend my husband and I went to dinner at Mignonette in the Omni area near Downtown with our friends Kevin and Michelle. They’d never been and they loved it. It was a great night drinking wine and ordering just about every appetizer on the menu. We had oysters frank which were grilled and served with crispy bacon, smoked fish dip, charred octopus, popcorn conch, the fresh and light crudo and lobster deviled eggs. It was a real seafood feast. And Michelle made fun of me because the next day I went to Joe’s Stone Crab and picked up an order of the medium claws for us for dinner. MORE seafood!

Gorgeous light fixture at the Muse Bar in Hilton Aventura.

This week, I attended the silent auction fundraiser for Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida at the lovely new Hilton in Aventura. It’s quite nice and has the lovely Muse Bar where I enjoyed their signature Lion’s tail cocktail which is their take on an old fashioned and the chicken anticucho with jicama slaw. And I was fascinated with the lovely light fixture over the bar made of crystal birds, it’s really beautiful. Hoping to go there for happy hour or maybe even do a little staycation with my better half there one of these days.

That’s about it for this week. Looking forward to getting together with Michelle & Kevin and several other couple friends tomorrow night.

And hopefully I’ll be able to hit the Miami Book Fair Street Fair this weekend, crossing my fingers it’s not a wash out. I encourage you to check out their website because they have quite a few virtual author talks/presentations. You might find an author you like that’s presenting online.

Thanks as always for reading and looking forward to next Friday and reporting on Thanksgiving and the many people I’ll be interviewing for several other articles I’m working on.

Have a wonderful Friday and weekend.
