Serafina's Italian eats come to Aventura Mall

So glad I finally made it to the lovely Italian restaurant Serafina, one of the new eateries at the Aventura Mall.I immediately fell in love with the patio area and chose to sit there on a sunny Miami day with perfect mild weather. Ordering a glass of white wine seemed like the next logical step. While I sipped, I perused the menu and immediately saw a few items I knew I wanted to order, (thanks to all the IG stories by bloggers who raved about these dishes!)The meatball was an appetizer must and the bruschetta was a good choice as well. I loved the traditional bruschetta and the no fuss of the toasted bread topped with tomatoes, fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil and a hint of garlic. The meatballs were topped with a hearty tomato sauce and a dollop of fresh ricotta and with basil leaves as a garnish. I couldn't stop eating the tender homemade meatballs which were served with toasted bread. I did manage to save one to take home.I was in the mood for pasta and wanted something light after the meatballs and their farfalle al limoncello was just the thing. Delicate bow tie pasta are cooked perfectly al dente and served in a sauce of lemon zest and juice with a touch of cream and tossed with a nice helping of baby shrimp. I wanted to finish the very generous portion but ended up taking some home which was great.I had to try one of their signature cocktails and the Terra Spritz was recommended. The delicately colored concoction includes Bergamont liqueur, Psychaud's Aperitivo and Q Grapefruit Soda. It was light and refreshing. In keeping with the theme of tradition, I ordered the tiramisu for dessert. It was the perfect sized portion and each bite was more heavenly than the one before. It's amazing what Aventura has to offer by way of restaurant options and Serafina is the perfect fit for this new updated dining experience...in a mall.Serafina, 19565 Biscayne Blvd., 786.920.0989 serafinamia.com
