Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is back! Oh happy day!

I was grinning from ear to ear when I found out Lime Fresh Mexican Grill was making a comeback so when I heard about the South Beach location grand opening, I immediately RSVP'd.I was very sad when the one in my neighborhood closed because it was a favorite lunchtime meeting spot for me and my good friend Fernande. (They're opening back up near me again and it's even closer to my house). But trekking to South Beach wasn't a problem, because I knew I'd be having their delicious Mexican favorites. The grand opening didn't disappoint. The samples kept coming around and around, and of lots of different menu items.Taquitos, quesadillas, mini burritos, salad, nachos and bottles of Coronita were unlimited and non-stop. I love their sauce station and they had that too. My favorites are the mild ones which include the salsa verde a light green tomatillo salsa, the smokey salsa asada made with fire-roasted tomatoes, onions, garlic, jalapeños and fresh cilantro. And I couldn't leave without grabbing their fresh pico de gallo and corn and black bean salsa. I grabbed a little bit of each.Then...I went to town sampling everything they had to offer. And it was great to take plenty home, always good to share with the family. Here's a few photos that are sure to make you hungry.    The re-opening of this original South Beach location, the first in Miami-Dade back in 2004, they paid homage to that year through their posters. The pop culture references from were everywhere -- "The Apprentice," MTV's "Pimp My Ride," a Blackberry phone, MySpace and Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson. It was a fun addition to the festivities.Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, 1439 Alton Rd., Miami Beach and locations in Downtown Dadeland, Doral, West Kendall, University of Miami and COMING SOON Midtown and North Miami.
