Wore my catering and PR hats

As I mentioned in a previous post on this blog, I got hired for a pretty intense catering gig by a local film crew. I started that on Wednesday.

It’s been good so far, hard work but gratifying work, especially hearing they were pleased with what I made for them. Elizabeth was a great help today, stepping in to make some delicious side salads with a tasty homemade dressing.

The gig continues until probably Aug. 11 so I’ll give you an update next week. Luckily the film location is really close by although I do have to go over two bridges to get there and the very first day I got stuck waiting while the bridge was up and being repaired but it was fine, I wasn’t too delayed.

I also donned my PR hat this week and made a few pitches to local media about Be The Change South FL and about a great new little book and wine shop in my neighborhood Paradis Books & Bread. I believe I’ve mentioned Paradis in this Blog before but in case I haven’t click here to check out their website. I’m pretty sure both of them are gonna get some great publicity. Fingers crossed.

On one last note, today after delivering the food to the film crew I drove by the Surfside Memorial mural on Collins Ave. It was so sad. Broke my heart to see all the flowers and notes.

That’s all for this week. As always thanks for reading and have a great weekend and week.

Until next Friday, be well.

Peace
