Spectacular light show to kick-off Newt Miami

I was fascinated by the idea of lights on the side of a building being set to music and that the project was essentially inspired by Isaac Newton. The evening was the kick-off to the week-long event called Newt Miami. So there we all stood at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami with our headphones around our necks waiting to see the light show on the side of the InterContinental Miami hotel. On the stage directly in front of us was the Nu Deco Ensemble, one of Miami's newest innovative orchestras. As they played live, the lights flashed and made geometric shapes to the music. When the performance was over, we all donned our headphones and the light show continued, this time to recorded music, with a variety of familiar songs. We then moved into the InterContinental's lobby for a reception with open bar and lite bites that seemed never-ending. It gave us all a chance to network, talk about what we experienced and chat with the creators of this experiment, Co-founder and Producer Dejha Carrington and Co-Founder and Composer Kelly Nunes.Let's hope these two collaborate on further projects because Newt Miami surely added a pop of color to Downtown Miami, and created a new appreciation for the relationship between sight and sound
