Pretty quiet week

It’s been pretty quiet since I last hit your inbox earlier this week.

Not too much to report on.

It was nice seeing my nephew’s wife Patty and their son Mano at Trader Joe’s Food Rescue on Wednesday. Always a treat when I get to catch up with them.

On Wednesday night Vance and I went to trivia at Old Tom’s Cafe. Although we didn’t do great I’m pretty sure we finished third and as usually happens, I won a free drink (they give away a drink in each of the three rounds). We always have a good time when we go, it’s a nice mid week outing and we’re home before 10. We always have dinner there too, this time I ordered the mahi fingers and they were really good.

That’s me, smiling for George Neary (who is taking the picture) at the registration table on Thursday morning.

Thursday I got up bright and early to be at the InterContinental Hotel in Downtown by 7 a.m. for the annual Breakfast with the Arts & Hospitality hosted by the Arts & Business Council of Miami. After helping with registration I went in to take notes while listening to the panelists and honored guests. It’s always a great morning, bonding and networking with the arts community. I’ll share my article when it’s published, most likely this coming week.

Kaitlyn blowing out her candles on that delicious Oreo ice cream cake with Ana (on the left) and Mari looking on. I can’t believe this cutie is 12!!!! Happy birthday.

And tonight, Vance and I went to my sister Ana’s house to celebrate my great niece Kaitlyn’s 12th birthday. It was nice to hang out with my nieces Tiffany and Elena, sisters Ana, Susy and Mari and my other great niece Hailey (Kaitlyn’s sister). The Oreo ice cream cake was especially good.

Tomorrow I’m especially excited about going to another concert, this time to see The Cure!!! Haven’t seen them in a while and always look forward to seeing them. Their music always reminds me of my college days. Can’t wait!

That’s all for this week. Oh and just a reminder that tomorrow night at the Miami Beach Bandshell is the Cowboy Bebop Tribute Live show, the one I wrote about for New Times. Here’s the link.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, a safe and fun Fourth of July and I’ll see you again next Friday! xoxo
