Lunch date, day date and potential column

Hi there! Since we were last together, Friday night in your inbox, here’s what’s been transpiring this past week.

I had a couple of articles published, one about the fun Project Unleashed event at Camillus House and the other one on a new theater company in Miami run by two ambitious and passionate young men. Click here to read about Project Unleashed and click here to read about Brevo Theatre in The Miami Times.

After careful thought and consideration, I decided to go back to Miami on the Cheap, a website I worked for years back. Something told me they could use the help and the Editor’s immediate reply to my e-mail meant my inkling was spot on. So…I’m back with them but just to update info, I told my Editor I don’t have time to write full posts for them and she was fine with that. A little extra income will come in handy.

While my Editor from DISH Miami liked an article I wrote (which unfortunately is currently on hold due to some late breaking news) and she’s offered me a column. We’re going to chat next week about that so I may have some news to share in Friday’s post on this blog.

Sharon from Joshua’s Heart in North Miami Beach happy to receive the food rescue from Trader Joe’s.

This week was also filled with lots of volunteer work doing food rescues from Trader Joe’s with Be The Change South Florida on Wednesday and Food Rescue US on Thursday. It was great because through Food Rescue US, I discovered the wonderful non-profit Joshua’s Heart Foundation just minutes from my house. They have an enormous food pantry and with the rescued food I brought them they fed lots of families. Click here to see the very nice Instagram post that talks about Joshua’s Heart and the lovely Sharon (pictured above), from the organization. If you feel so inspired, click on the links above to find out about those three organizations and maybe lend them a hand.

Cocktails with a view at Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) in Downtown.

Last weekend it was nice to spend time with my nephew Tony from Seattle. He was in town, and still is actually I found out today, so the family took him out to lunch at Sergio’s a great Cuban spot we love. On Sunday I spent the day with my husband Vance enjoying Downtown Miami. We went to the Frost Science Museum and enjoyed their new Sherlock Holmes exhibit as well as the wonderful open-air fourth floor of the museum where you can look down into the aquarium. Drinks at the Perez Art Museum next door while watching the cruise ships and cars whizzing by on the Causeway completed the day.

Tomorrow night I’m looking forward to watching my niece Hailey perform at the Miami Girls Rock Camp showcase. She’s gonna shred on guitar! I’ll share a picture of her next week too.

Until next week, have a great one, be well, stay healthy and stay Zen.
