Kathie Lee Gifford returns to Carnival Cruise Line to unveil GIFFT wine collection

Feeling excited about her return to Carnival Cruise Line from when she first sang the "If You Could See Me Now" and "Ain't We Got Fun" jingles more than 30 years ago, Kathie Lee Gifford introduced her GIFFT collection of wines at a media unveiling on the Carnival Breeze. She was introduced by Eddie Allen, Carnival Cruise Line Vice President, Beverage Operations who she then joined as together they unveiled the two wines that will be served fleetwide by the glass and bottle. The wines, estate-grown at California-based Scheid Family and one of the largest vintage owners in Monterey County, include a Red Blend and Chardonnay. The blend includes Merlot, Petite Sirah, Petit Verdot and Syrah and was given 91 points out of a possible 100 by Wine Enthusiast magazine in September 2014. Gifford also announced they'll be debuting a Rose in the Spring.Gifford broke out in song, belting out her well known jingles and revealed the story of how she was chosen as Carnival spokesperson and lovingly said "I am grateful to Carnival for all the opportunities they've given me."And Carnival is elated to have her back in this capacity because "the GIFFT Collection is a great addition to our onboard wine offerings," said Allen.Cruise passengers were then surprised with a consumer wine tasting attended by Gifford who was personable and took selfies and chatted with them as they sampled both wines.Exclusive to the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, both varietals will be available at a variety of the bars on board as well as the main dining rooms.
