Chef Adrianne Calvo moves Cracked to new digs
You might remember Cracked (and The Beverly for desserts) from the Yumbrella food hall in the Shops at Sunset Place. Well now Chef Adrianne has relocated both to a cozy corner location in South Miami where No Name Chinese once took up residence.
The updated look is fresh, airy and inviting and the food well, it's Chef Adrianne Calvo helming the menu so absolutely fabulous of course.
The drink menu is nice and I recommend ordering either the Citrus Lavender Mimosa or Signature Rosé Sangria. They're both refreshing, light and perfect for brunch or even lunch which is when I went with my friend Iris.
The first appetizer we had, the suina tartare made with a crispy wonton topped with the freshest ahi tuna and truffled caper cream was a great starter.
Next was the crispy gouda, creamy gouda cheese enveloped in a light crispy coating served over a raspberry reduction with white truffle. I think I want to have my gouda like this every...single...time.
Just as creamy was the burrata with tomato onion jam and balsamic, a heavenly combination ready to be spread on crunchy/chewy bread. There are a few other burrata combos to be had here and I can't wait to return and try them.
New on the menu is the spinach salad with green apple, pear, walnut, feta cheese, shaved onion and sesame dressing. Refreshing on what seem to be our never-ending hot, sticky and humid Miami days.
There's dessert here too, part of The Beverly concept and one of the best is the dark chocolate Nutella croissant bread pudding (yes, croissant bread pudding) with vanilla soft serve.
Chef Adrianne, you've done it again, brought your magic touch to yet another establishment. Oh and by the way, you can also find Cracked at the Wharf Miami along the Miami River.
