Bohemian vibe is strong at Proyecto Tulum
When you know the food is from La Santa Taqueria, and you arrive at a place with such a Bohemian vibe you know it's gonna be a good night. That was our experience at Proyecto Tulum in Wynwood.
The carefully curated sacred space is described as "relaxing, soothing, modern, tropical structured, raw, wanderlust and textures" on their website. Aside from the great food, you'll find murals, live music and mixologists creating craft cocktails.
The night we went the tasting menu included...
A couple of tasty cocktails me a sangria, yes it's a weird choice at a Mexican spot but it was good, and a margarita for my better half.
We chose a couple of appetizers from the Root 'n Seeds menu, an additional food concept at Proyecto Tulum. Those included the elote bites, perfectly round and delicately fried made with roasted corn and topped with cilantro aioli, chipotle and queso fresco. Also to share we had the short rib empanadas with sweet plantain and topped with house aioli and pickled onions. Yes, we were starting to get full, and took some of these home believe me because...
Up next from La Santa Taqueria's menu we ordered the traditional tacos al pastor with pork and pineapple offering meaty and sweet goodness in every bite, and the quesadilla de Pedro in all its cheesy glory. We took some of the quesadilla home too.
We were definitely too full for dessert but loved the experience. This is definitely a fun outing in Wynwood if you're looking for a laid back, open air atmosphere with a sacred space vibe.
