Biking, naturing and date night

Ok so naturing may not be a word but I did a lot of it this week, both biking and walking.

I took a nice long bike ride on a newish bike I was gifted by the guys from Miami Bicycles and Repair (if you’re ever in North Miami or North Miami Beach and need bicycle repair or service, they’re your guys!). That beauty rides great, so much better than my old rusty one that I think is nearly 20 years old. Riding through the Biscayne Park neighborhood is one of my favorite pastimes, it never gets old. I love finding different colorful benches under giant trees and taking a little rest. It’s when I take time to listen to the birds calling and chirping and watch as the sun breaks through the tree branches and leaves. I took a lovely photo of a gorgeous tree with pink flowers which I submitted to The New Tropic newsletter and they published it!

Ramen with Monica’s favorite, green tea

My Rainbow Poke bowl (after I’d already started eating it), which was fresh and satisfying.

Yesterday, after my weekly Thursday lunch with Monica at Phat Boy Sushi in Fort Lauderdale, I headed to Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park in Hollywood. The food at Phat Boy was really good and the decor and interior of the restaurant were all very inviting. Pictured above is the ramen my friend Monica had and the poke bowl I ordered. And I had to take lots of pictures at the lovely state park. I recommend visiting both. See the state park pics below.

And a few last things before I bid you goodbye this Friday. (It was a busy day today so keeping it kinda short this week).

First, if you want to know what’s coming up in Miami’s 2022-23 Arts season, check out my article in Biscayne Times.

Nick and I enjoying a Saturday night dinner at our neighborhood Denny’s. He was so excited, he couldn’t keep his eyes open! LOL

Then last, but certainly not least, I had the best date last Saturday for dinner at Denny’s, my son Nicholas. He picked the restaurant because he said “I really love their hash browns.”

And just one more thing, before I forget. We got a sweet postcard from my niece Elena and her boyfriend AJ, from one of their stops along their Appalachian Trail hiking adventure. It brought a huge smile to my face! Can’t wait to see them in December.

I’ll see you right back here next Friday. Until then… be well, stay healthy, stay grateful and remember to practice self-care.
