Marlins Park - Baseball's Newest Stadium

Edgy and innovative, this brand-new stadium in Miami redefines the ballgame and also sets the standards for the future of ballparks.Towering, futuristic-looking and set in the iconic Orange Bowl’s former space, the brand-new Marlins Park turns baseball tradition on its head. The signature feature at this stadium in Little Havana, a neighborhood just west of downtown Miami, is the three-paneled, 547-foot retractable roof that opens and closes in 13 minutes, which means, rain or shine, the game goes on.

While players are busy stealing bases, ticket holders experience sensory overload tenfold, starting with Ocean Drive’s iconic Clevelander, which has set up shop with a trendy bar here. For $25 (standing room only) or $50 a seat, fans can sip piña coladas, relax in a swimming pool and listen to DJs spin as bikini-clad dancers shake their booties. Post-game parties last until 3 a.m.Meanwhile, from cushioned love seats, serious baseball fans watch the action at home plate, where twin 450-gallon shatterproof aquariums serve as a backdrop. (For the best views of the fish, check out the Diamond Club seating.) When hunger sets in, smartphone owners can stay in their seats and use the At Bat app to order roast-pork sandwiches or ceviche from the Taste of Miami concession stand; you’re notifed by text message when the order is ready. Nobody leaves without a visit to the Bobblehead Museum. Fans use an electronic search box to fnd their favorite ballplayer among the 588 dolls on display. marlins.com
