In 2013, resolving to cook something new everyday?

What ever possessed me to make such a resolution for 2013 and on Facebook no less. As I suspected, the comments poured in. Some of my FB friends wished me luck and asked me to post recipes while others plainly told me "you're nuts!"I would agree with the latter group. Yes, I'm nuts to make such a statement. Already today, January 4th, no new recipe so of course, I feel obligated to make two tomorrow to play catch up.And I'll do it too, because I'm bound and determined to make this happen. Yes, for 365 days, except when we're on vacation.I have all these cookbooks you see and everytime I try a new recipe from one and it's a success, I'm overjoyed. Like the simple mushroom and parsley salad I debuted during a family birthday celebration. It made a great side for our barbecue and was a light, low-calorie option for all of us (who couldn't use that after the holidays and a few days after New Year's Eve?) but especially for the birthday girl who, following doctor's orders, is watching what she eats. She was very pleased and appreciative of the gesture. Even better was being able to use the leftover salad in a delectable new pasta dish I prepared and then topping it with a nice piece of broiled salmon. It doesn't take a genius to realize that I love to cook and eat, it brings me immense pleasure and joy. You can bet this blog will be filled with more updates on recipes that I discover and excel at in 2013.My cooking utensils, pots and pans, spices and aprons are ready for an exciting culinary adventure. Off I go to discover new flavors and tastes so keep reading this blog to hear all about them.Delicioso y buen provecho!
