Food vendors score a touchdown at Hard Rock Stadium showcase

It was great to be back at Hard Rock Stadium to learn about a few new food options as well as some veteran vendors who are expanding their presence to additional sections. With the 2018-19 season opener against the Titans on Sept. 9 football fans have lots to look forward to. Concert goers and soccer fans will love these too! Here's a rundown of the vendors and their delicious samples. I attempted to try all of them but it was tough:The two new concepts this year are &Pizza a fast-casual pizza concept in sections 142 and 345 and Mojo Donuts in 217.The pizza choices include thin crust topped with garlic ricotta, mozzarella, grilled onion, basil pesto, garlic oil and parmesan. There's also the Maverick for meat lovers topped with salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage, pesto and parmesan. For simpler tastes there's the classic cheese or pepperoni.Satisfy your sweet tooth with Mojo Donuts in Section 217. Filled and topped with all sorts of amazing flavors, it was tough to choose one, especially with the donut tower they had on display at the Showcase! They offer 40 different kinds so you could spend the next few Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes seasons trying these! At Menchie's, a returning vendor in Sections 139 and 150, they have eight flavor choices and a wide variety of toppings including gummies, sprinkles and plenty of other favorites. Besides traditional chocolate, vanilla flavors (or a swirl of the two), they've got Cake Batter, Dulce de Leche, Tart, Strawberry and a Sorbet whose flavors they rotate.Right at the beginning there was Centerplate the company that runs the concessions at Hard Rock Stadium. They were doling out fresh guacamole at their Guacamole Cart available only in the suites and re-inventions of Cuban favorites from the 305 Grille (Sections 130, 317 and 332). The "Cuban style" egg roll is filled with roast pork, Swiss cheese, ham, pickles and seasoned yellow rice and served with a sweet mustard dipping sauce. There's also a Cuban style pizza with similar toppings. I was so excited to see Fuku was back this year, Momofuku's Fried Chicken Sandwich Shop. This year Chef David Chang has added the CBR, a spicy fried chicken sandwich (yes, the one he's famous for) topped with bacon and ranch to his selection of fried chicken sandwiches. Nothing at ALL wrong with that. Find these in sections 116 and 319.The premier Latin steakhouse Los Ranchos, now in sections 106 and 350, were handing out samples of their queso frito bites and their churrasco chop, a tenderloin beef churrasco served over red beans, sweet plantains and chimichurri sauce. For something a bit healthier, the organic outpost Grown from former NBA Star Ray Allen and his wife Shannon is also back in Sections 148 and 242. There you'll find smoothies, wraps and salads, a salmon burger and Organic free range chicken tenders. In that same healthy realm is Sushi Maki in Section 244 where you can get a variety of sushi rolls, tacos, salads and poke bowls, nigiri and sashimi and Wok and Street Food. The tuna tacos and poke bowl samplers they were handing out were fresh and delicious.Satisfy your sweet tooth with Mojo Donuts in Section 217. Filled and topped with all sorts of amazing flavors, it was tough to choose one, especially with the donut tower they had on display at the Showcase! They offer 40 different kinds so you could spend the next few Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes seasons trying these!Rounding out the returning vendors at the Showcase were Bru's Room with their chicken wings, tenders and fried buffalo chicken sandwiches. Find them in Sections 102, 214, 242 and 304. Or for juicy burgers, chef crafted and chargrilled go to Shula's Burger. They're all over the stadium, in sections 114, 142, 222, 250 and 345.Cafe Versailles had all the Cuban favorites including guava pastries, Cuban sandwiches and empanadas. Theses are just some of their choices at Sections 120, 242 and 347.If you love Southern style food get it at either Jackson's Soul Food where they've got fried shrimp, BBQ rib bites or conch with fries and baked mac 'n cheese at Sections 134 and 329. You can also satisfy that comfort food craving at Shorty's BBQ in Sections 104, 132, 219, 247 and 313. Brisket and pulled pork are their specialties, served up with their creamy coleslaw.OB House in Section 148 will serve you up a variety of sandwiches and their specialty, thick 'n rich pancakes in plain, andouille and corn or fresh blueberry variteties. With this line-up of food, you'll definitely be satisfied no matter what you're in the mood for during game time, or any other time you attend an event at Hard Rock Stadium!Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr., Miami Gardens
