Wonderful experience in the Florida Keys
Always needing some sort of summer getaway, I took upon planning our vacation to the Florida Keys before the summer was over and the kids had to go back to school. I was a little frazzled when I found out we'd planned to head down there at the beginning of lobster season but I forged ahead, bound and determined to get down there.I was able to book a really nice room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Marathon just the week before for a very reasonable nightly rate. A good friend from my days working for the Florida Keys kept recommending it on her Facebook page so I thought we should give it a shot. Best decision ever. What a great resort! From our spacious room to a wonderful pool, great restaurant and bar and watersports available on property we were set. The complimentary breakfast was great with the kids hitting the pancake-making machine every morning. The pool definitely got plenty of use. We lounged, frolicked in the water and my husband and I enjoyed a few great cocktails. On our last morning there we decided to rent kayaks and take the kids out on a little trip right from the resort. I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive the kayak rentals were. We set off and although the wind was blowing a bit we still had a wonderful time getting out on the water. This resort has it all, we will definitely stay there again and I've already started recommending it to everyone I know.
