Venezuelan favorites and more at Doral’s Sabor Venezolano

By Josie GulliksenStriving to be more than just a place to pick up Venezuelan munchies like bollitos, arepas and empanadas, Sabor Venezolano is one of the only (and perhaps the only) sit-down restaurant serving gourmet, ...  buffet style cuisine. It’s not all Venezuelan either, there’s a wide array of international fare here.Walk in and the style is simple with white tables and chairs, a couple of small flat-screen televisions and gentle music playing in the background. Here it’s about the experience of dining on top-rate food and receiving the best attention. It’s easy to be transported to another country through the selection of food available.They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast buffet is served from 8-11:30 a.m. and includes a typical Venezuelan breakfast as well as the All-American and the eggs any way. For lunch there are two choices of specials with one including a main dish, soup and appetizer and the other features an additional house specialty choice for just a bit more (one is $5.99 the other is $7.99).There are always three chef specialties on the menu and they change regularly as do the daily soups. The black bean soup is phenomenal.
