Spring is just around the corner

I’m feeling it, the weather is starting to shift.

As much as I loved the cooler weather we experienced in January and into February, and as much as I dislike the humidity of our warmer weather, I feel myself welcoming it.

Been working up a sweat on bike rides and walks lately and even worked up a sweat just sitting at the beach.

But, that also means even more time at the beach with refreshing dips into the ocean as the days get hotter.

I also love that our pretty frangipani tree in the front yard is starting to change, signaling the arrival of Spring.

As I looked up, I noticed green leaves popping up and just today, saw a small bunch of its beautiful pink flowers peeking out. I love when our yard is littered with the pretty blossoms. I love placing them around the house in bowls of water. They don’t last very long but for a few days, they add a lovely touch of beauty and brightness.

I’m also looking forward to all the colorful plants around our house springing back to life. Those pre-Spring showers (which we’re expecting tonight and tomorrow), will perk them up! I’m looking forward to that!

I think these awakenings have brought about a renewed optimism in me. An optimism that we’re moving in the right direction with this dreaded Coronavirus.

Perhaps the news of so many getting vaccinated, including several family members and friends, has brought me the same joy these pops of an upcoming Spring have.

It’s time to shed the Coronavirus doldrums and look forward to a brighter 2021.

Springtime can’t get here soon enough!
