Pachanga comes to North Miami with opening of Sergio's Cuban
The Cuban music was playing, Cafe Bustelo cafecitos and Hatuey beer were being poured and croquetas and empanadas kept coming around non-stop. That was the scene at the Grand Opening celebration of Sergio's Cuban in North Miami a few weeks ago.On a bright sunny day the ribbon was cut and crowds packed the new fast casual spot that's got traditional Cuban favorites and several healthier options on the menu.I couldn't stop reaching for their delicious empanadas every time they came by. My husband opted for the Cuban hamburger and he absolutely loved it. It's got the crispy papitas and onions, lettuce, tomato and the burger's made three blends of meat. My son Nicholas got arroz con frijoles (rice and black beans) and my daughter and I got the bowls. We were able to customize our bowls so we both opted for brown rice and I added black beans, roast pork (which was amazing, I swear abuela was back there making lechon asado) and she opted for the chicken. They serve breakfast at Sergio's too and their choices look pretty amazing. I love that they've got the customizable bowls, it was such a nice surprise. That means I can pick up a few croquetas and have my roast pork fix but with brown rice and veggies if I like. We'll definitely be visiting again, given it's in our neighborhood and very close by. The Sergio's name always evokes quality food with true Cuban flavors. It's nice to know that we can get there in no time and have our fill of wonderful Cuban food.Stay tuned for more locations opening soon in Cutler Ridge, Miami Lakes, Wynwood, Brickell and Opa-Locka.Sergio's Cuban, 1821 NE 123 St., North Miami 305.702.7211, sergioscuban.com
