MC Kitchen was everything I'd imagined
Dena Marino's MC Kitchen had been on my restaurant bucket list for a while now. Everything I'd heard sounded amazing with one fantastic review after another. It took me forever but I vowed that I would try it for Miami Spice this year and this week I finally did.I got there right at noon and there was no one in the place yet, I knew that would be the case. The hostess sat me at a lovely table for two and I was immediately drawn to the delicate yellow flowers on the opposite wall. I loved the cushions on the couch side of my table so I chose to sit there. Oh and believe me, the place didn't stay empty for long, it filled up within 10 minutes. And I can see why, the food is fantastic. I ordered off the Miami Spice menu of course and started off with a refreshing and delectable "Fork Off" Buratta a small serving of the soft mozzarella cheese surrounded by sweet thin peach slices and prosciutto bits topped with a sherry glaze and balsamic caviar and a drizzle of honey on the plate.I chose the Rhode Island calamari scampi as an entree, a bowl of perfectly cooked spaghetti nicely dotted with tender calamari in a broth of calabrian chile, herbs, lemon juice and and the house olive oil (which they also sell). The portions were perfect and allowed me to save room for dessert. I ordered the layered vanilla cake filled with a light, delicate and pillowy toasted almond cream and finished with amaretti cookie crumbs. Aside from loving every single bite, I absolutely loved the perfect portion sizes for all three courses. What a great experience.
