Great new gourmet sandwich shop in my 'hood

Living in Downtown North Miami for the past 19 years, I've seen spots come and go along 125th Street and am always curious about new businesses opening up in the area. There's a little corner spot on NE 125th St. and 8th Avenue that has been home to Dogma, a fantastic hot dog place and to Burrito Grill Cafe, an incredibly authentic Mexican spot. I miss both these places but am loving what's there now. It's a little sandwich spot called Cane A Sucre and I recently tried it out for lunch with my husband and we both left completely enamored with the place and promising to return. I had already been once and loved the food so knew he would become an instant fan like me.We had the soup and sandwich special for the measly sum of $6.50. The half sandwich they serve is more than generous and the soup is delicious and obviously homemade. I sampled the El Milano, ahaved imported prosciutto ham, vine-ripened tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, and a drizzle of pesto, and he tried the Le Pollo, grilled chicken breast, topped with caramelized onions, smoked Gouda cheese, and roasted tomato aioli. Both were served on a crunchy French baguette and that day were accompanied by an amazing, orange delicacy -- the carrot ginger soup. I encourage anyone who visits the area to try this place for breakfast or lunch. I'm definitely going back and trying some of their breakfast items which range from $2 for toasted tartine with French butter and their fresh strawberry  marmalade and several breakfast sandwiches ranging from $4.50-$5.50.Try this place out, it's worth the trip no matter where you are.
