Fun time celebrating The Taco Stand's anniversary

Kitchy, hole-in-the-wall The Taco Stand in Wynwood recently turned one. They celebrated by offering some of their authentic eats at specialty prices. It was fun feasting on tacos and carne asada fries surrounded by colorful wall murals and even more interesting napkin holders.

Devilish napkin holder

I loved the carne asada fries, with a load of tender meat and topped with guacamole, crema and cheese sauce. These are impossible to stop eating!

Al pastor and shrimp tacos

The tacos are pretty awesome too. Can't go wrong with al pastors with their juicy pork and sweet pineapple or with the shrimp tacos filled with grilled shrimp, cheese, avocado, cabbage, chipotle sauce loads of cilantro and onions. Swap the shrimp for fish and the same toppings and you've got the fish tacos, which aren't a bad choice either, believe me.

And how can you even possibly go to a Mexican taco stand and not order the chips with guacamole. These chips are fresh made right in front of you from fresh tortillas they're making, hundreds by the hour I'm sure. Sit at the bar and you'll witness them being made, as well as whatever you order.

If you're in need of a cold sweet treat and in Miami, that's a virtual certainty, grab a paleta or two. They've got plenty in this art-adorned freezer.

Do yourself a favor go to Wynwood to see all the street art, and maybe chuckle at all the selfie-taking and make sure to stop in to Taco Stand too. You'll thank me.
