Do yourself a favor, get to Yumbrella and try Chef Adrianne Calvo's many concepts there

She's been a fixture on Miami's restaurant scene for more than a decade with her stellar Chef Adrianne's Vineyard Restaurant and Wine Bar in a small strip mall in West Kendall. In fact, this month is the 12th Anniversary.

Now, she's making her mark in South Miami at Yumbrella Food Hall with her three concepts - Cracked, Noods and The Beverly. (There's also a Cracked at Wharf Miami).

What's cool about Yumbrella is that it's a food hall with table service. For this particular event, we were treated to Chef Adrianne's choices as she curated a careful selection of samplings.

Cauliflower

Brussels sprouts and elote

We started with individual samplings of roasted cauliflower with chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, avocado crema and pickled red onions, followed by roasted Brussels sprouts with Asian pear and truffled soy vinaigrette and elote off the cob with chipotle mayo, garlic cilantro aioli, queso blanco and fresh cilantro. All three are part of the Cracked menu as well as equally delicious.

Next came the truffled pepperoni pizza cheese fries with marinara sauce. I'd seen these on everyone's IG account so loved trying them. My favorite part of this was the oozy cheese and crispy, curly pepperoni. We also got to sample the crispy pork belly sliders with artisan chimi, guava and queso blanco. Although I'm not a fan of guava, these were delicious.

Next we were presented with a Chinese take out box overflowing with vegetable chow mein with crispy and soft noodles, snow peas, broccoli, water chestnuts, carrots, bell peppers, onions, celery and black sesame seeds, topped with a soft boiled egg. The egg gave it a "ramen" quality. This dish was a surprise from one bite to the next, going from crunchy to soft. It gets the gold medal for varying textures.

Dessert was a trio of mini versions from The Beverly menu and included the candied corn flake ice cream pie (unbelievable), the chocolate shake with toasted marshmallow and graham dust with plenty of chocolate shavings (just as good) and the traditional soft serve ice cream with vanilla/chocolate swirl (always my fave and what I order wherever there's soft serve). Needless to say, dessert was a winner!

Oh and we had to start with a couple of cocktails from the Tonic Craft Cocktail Bar (yes, switching things up here and featuring them at the end). I chose the Dark 'n Stormy while my friend opted for the Mule.

It's nice to see a food hall at Sunset Place in South Miami to give residents and shoppers so many food options. Check it out, you're gonna love the food as much as the ambiance.
