Do I have the chops?

I'd been wanting to for a while so recently I got inspired and actually entered a poetry contest. I actually won a poetry contest when I was in my 20s and had some of my work published in my University's Literary Magazine.Whether I've got the chops or not, it felt so good to enter a contest after all this time. Now I sit and anxiously wait to see if I win or even place for one of their cash prizes.The point is, I got the guts up to do it and now I'm motivated to enter a few more and see what happens. Next up, I might muster up the courage to actually write a short story and enter that in a contest as well. I've actually got the start to a few good ones rolling around in my head, I just have to sit down and write it all the way to the end!Let's see what transpires.
