Cork & Fork put a cork in it and stuck a fork in it

It was a great way to end Carnaval Miami 2018 on a glorious "Chamber of Commerce" day in Miami. The Cork & Fork Festival during Carnaval on the Mile was a two-day food extravaganza at the end of Miracle Mile and closest to LeJeune Road. The VIP tent set up was ideal for milling around and tasting bites then sipping wine. There were several wine distributors pouring rose (the "in" wine nowadays, have you experienced the "frose" craze?), plus various whites and reds.Highlights from that day were plenty, especially the demonstration by Chef Eileen Andrade, owner and executive chef of Finka Table & Tap and her most recent venture, the Cuban diner Amelia's 1931. Aside from her demo Finka Table & Tap was doling out samples of one of their best selling menu items the arroz con pollo fritters with a huancaina sauce drizzle. The guys from Town Kitchen & Bar were giving out delectable salmon poke samples from their House Kitchen & Bar and the variety of Indian food from Mint Leaf Indian Brasserie was immense and included the traditional chicken tikka and samosas.Tasca de España had everything from appetizers like bacalao and serrano ham croquettes, to their paella and individual desserts that included tres leches and a refreshing mango flavored concoction. The sushi display from Sushi Club, a new spot on Miracle Mile, was colorful and enticing with so many options it was difficult to choose one. Luckily they were bite sized pieces which made it easy to try a wide variety of what they had to offer.I've had Zucca's handmade ravioli before, at their media tasting so I was ecstatic to see them serving up their light and delicate raviolis topped with parmesan and sage this afternoon. Zucca is located inside the historic Hotel St. Michel. That would seem like enough but there was more including a scrumptious seafood paella served straight out a huge paella pan by Lola's Gourmet, they're located on Coral Way. And for something lighter, That's a Wrap was serving up refreshing turkey wrap sandwiches.Cork & Fork happened on a gorgeous, sunny afternoon on Miracle Mile and I can't wait until next year when Carnaval on the Mile comes around again so I can enjoy another fun afternoon of delicious food and wine.
