Aloft Hotels making a splash in Miami with art show and new restaurant

Surely you've seen Aloft Hotels becoming more prominent in Miami with locations in Brickell, Doral, Dadeland, Coral Gables and by Miami International Airport and it's no surprise. Probably because they're more than just hotels, but also sites for art exhibitions and home to great restaurants.Currently at Aloft Miami Brickell you can take a trip around Miami, right from inside the hotel via the exhibit "Paseando por Miami." The show features the work of eight world renowned as well as up-and-coming artists from Venezuela. Each one of the artists illustrates their work through paintings, illustrations, graphic art and photography, showcasing the Magic City through their unique perspectives.Featured are the works of Marianella Arocha, Romulo Avendaño, Gabriela Benatar, Sylvia Degwitz, Orianna Montenegro, Christopher Pacillo, Rodrigo Picon and Enrique Urdaneta. The pieces feature iconic images of Miami including the ever-expanding skyline, crashing waves, Stilltsville, Brickell and piers.The show continues through Sept. 7 at 1001 SW 2 Ave., MiamiMeanwhile, at the Aloft Coral Gables they recently hosted a splashy Grand Opening of the M House Restaurant. Strikingly elegant with high ceilings, a green geometric pattern on terrazzo floors and additional green motif throughout with lush plants and green modern style seats. The equally modern chandeliers adorn the space which features a table for large parties in the center, surrounded by tables for two or four and also parties of six.At the grand opening fresh oysters with the scent of the sea were passed, as were delicate cod croquettes, chicken and pork skewers and bite size servings of tender charcoal grilled octopus and tuna tartare. All these items are part of the regular M House menu.Aloft Coral Gables, where M House Restaurant is located, is at 2524 S. LeJeune Rd., Coral Gables.
