A culinary and artful pairing at The Bakehouse Art Complex

With innovative groups always looking at new ways to connect with audiences and reach new people, the Indie Film Club Miami has devised a way to bring foodies, film lovers and arts connoisseurs together for a unique event. This is a natural pairing as surveys show food lovers are overwhelmingly interested in the arts.On Wed., Aug, 27 join these two groups for a fun evening at the Bakehouse Art Complex in Wynwood.  Romantic Endings pairs 10 of the most memorable romantic death scenes with a food experience and contemporary dance performance. It serves as the kick-off to a full season of planned transmedia events and workshops by the Winter and the Film Club.The ten course film inspired meal, curated by Chef Tanner Gill, is sure to satisfy both a culinary and artistic appetite. Gill will use his Texas flair and culinary chops to prepare dishes inspired by the screenings.In addition, one of the most iconic classical ballets Swan Lake, is being re-imagined for the evening’s contemporary audience by choreographer and dancer Marissa Alma Nick.“This new work, Swan Lake’s Battle Royale takes a spin on the classic,” said Diliana Alexander, executive director of Indie Film Club Miami. “In this fight to the death, the black and the golden swan will fight to win the heart of their beloved prince.”The event takes place from 7:00 to 10: p.m. at the Bakehouse Art Complex, located at 561 NW 32 Street.
