2013 KEY WEST FILM FESTIVALTO FEATURE PREMIERES OFBARBARA KOPPLE ’S “RUNNING FROM CRAZY”JEFFREY SHWARZ’S “I AM DIVINE”
Guests John Waters and Mariel Hemingway set to attend this year’s event with a line-up of more than 30 films,parties and special events set for Nov. 13-17
KEY WEST, Fla. – Filmmakers, actors, directors, distributors and film lovers will converge on the island to take in a stellar line-up of films during the five-day Key West Film Festival (KWFF).Screenings are to take place primarily at Key West’s historic landmark venues the San Carlos Institute and Tropic Cinema with additional host sites for special events as well as opening and closing night parties. The Wednesday night welcome party takes place at 8 p.m. at Somo Beach Café followed by a screening on the beach at the Southernmost Hotel. And on Friday Mariel Hemingway is a guest at the Festival After-Party at the Hemingway Home & Museum from 8-10 p.m. and at 9:15 p.m., Nick Norman opens for guitarist Griffin House who performs a solo acoustic show at the San Carlos Institute.This year’s films feature stars such as Jessica Biel, Kate Bosworth, Oscar-winning actors Robin Williams, Annette Bening and Ed Harris. Joining them are Oscar-nominated actors Helena Bonham Carter, James Franco and Ralph Fiennes, Megan Mullaly of “Will and Grace” fame and actor Stephen Dorff.A screening of Jeffrey Schwarz’s cult classic “I Am Divine” with a guest appearance by one of the film’s stars John Waters is a festival highlight, along with films by acclaimed directors John Sayles, Mike Newell (“Four Weddings and a Funeral”) and Michael Polish (“Twin Falls Idaho”).“We’re thrilled to bring the Key West Film Festival back for its second year. If there was one thing that last year’s event made clear, it’s that there is an appetite for an extended weekend of films and events that people could really get excited about,” said Festival Founder and Chairman Brooke Christian. “There were too many great memories to count, and we’re looking forward to making new ones this November.”
